My thoughts re: the royal baby

Don't get me wrong, I hope he or she is healthy and that the mother has an easy time delivering. I am not a ghoul, after all. But...

-- Babies are born in the UK every freakin' day. People should get a grip.

-- Kings as queens are archaic holdovers from a less enlightened era. The people of the UK can run their country any way they like. But honestly, I don't get why people go gaga over parasitic royals.

-- The parents will no doubt think of the new arrival as good news. But really, really good news would be an announcement that the royal family decided to start making an honest living and has donated its vast wealth to the British National Health Service.
