President Barack Obama and issued a statement congratulating the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge on the birth of their son Monday:
Michelle and I are so pleased to congratulate The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge on the joyous occasion of the birth of their first child. We wish them all the happiness and blessings parenthood brings. The child enters the world at a time of promise and opportunity for our two nations. Given the special relationship between us, the American people are pleased to join with the people of the United Kingdom as they celebrate the birth of the young prince.

(22,541 posts)Make up your mind. He's the fucking President. He issues statements about births and deaths. Big whoop. If you don't celebrate this one's birth just because Obama issued a statement or because he's a Prince that's your issue. But that baby doesn't know he's a prince or who President Obama is.
the only reason anyone gives a shit at all about this one is because his parents are rich anachronisms. When POTUS starts congratulating ordinary parents, then your question might make an ounce of sense.
