(20,277 posts)George is at least a family name. North West is a direction, not a name for a kid.

(21,786 posts)Charles has already said he'll be known as "George VII" when/if he becomes king, I think (and he's called Charles Philip Arthur George).

(1,044 posts)William's proper last name. It's a name he uses in the military. The family name is officially Mountbatten-Windsor.
polichick
(37,152 posts)or Mountbatten-Windsor. She also said Charles uses Wales.
Wonder why William would use Wales only in the military.

(6,380 posts)Prince Charles' youngest brother Edward runs a film/theatrical lighting and production company in England. Friends that work in that business talk about often getting voice mails from Edward Windsor. He does business and uses the name like anyone else would. A woman I worked with said she talked to him for about 4 months on various stuff before someone told her who he was. He hides it will, apparently, by acting very human.

(36,926 posts)Somehow that slipped under my radar screen. But, I agree Alex is the only acceptable name to call him. Poor baby. First a small cottage with no a/c, and now he's named "George." How much worse can it get for this kid?

(47,521 posts)Funny how posters on this list associate the name George with Americans. Has it dawned on them that for the British it has entirely different meaning and association?
