(39,166 posts)The bill failed by only 12 votes, and may be the least partisan bill of this entire session.

(9,893 posts)is an (R), although allegedly moderate, and he did vote to continue surveillence. I wrote him an e-mail noting that this was not the best way to get my vote (not that he would anyway; not that he CARES anyway, since he has one of the most ridiculously gerrymandered districts in the country). I did get a response with the talking points - metadata isn't actual conversation, stopping the surveillence will allow Islamofascists to overrun the country, blah, blah, blah. Just wanted to weigh in to add to the number of people he hears from in opposition to his vote.

(28,979 posts)He invited me to an online townhall. Junior first term (maybe last) Congressman Kilmer needs to find out the folks back home are paying attention.

(86,646 posts)My state only has one Rep in the House and it's usually a repugnican while we have one pseudo dem senator (always stabbing us in the back and a corporatist through and through) and one who is more or less a dem; a dem governor of unknown persuasion.
I always wonder why I even vote anymore, representation doesn't really describe what they do when they get their new positions. It's very depressing and hard to face on certain days.
