The Daytona 500 is expected to have about 30,000 fans in attendance, giving NASCAR an even bigger crowd than the Super Bowl, which hosted fewer than 25,000 people.

What they're saying: "It's going to be the largest sporting event that happens in the United States since COVID hit," Daytona International Speedway president Chip Wile told the Daytona Beach News-Journal.

30k will be pretty socially distant in there. The way Nascar has been not drawing fans the last few years, they probably didn't have to limit sales all that much.

Too bad they won't just stay home and die there without risking the lives of everyone around them, especially the first responders. Really wish hospitals could refuse to treat the malignant fascists who get the disease out of stupidity and hate for science and facts. They should be able to just send them home, since it's a hoax anyway.

FL has tons of medical facilities and we are nowhere near capacity now. There are LOTS of vaccination places starting this week. There's one run by the state, and now we have Walmart, Publix, Walgreens and CVS offering vaccinations. Publix, Walgreens and CVS were totally out of appts. through next week, but the Walmart had capacity so I'm scheduled for 10am Friday. Praying this won't be one of those hours long waits and that they have it together to get us in and out efficiently and schedule us for the 2nd shots. I hate Walmart and this will be the first time I've darkened their doors in 6 years, but for this I happily make an exception. I'm just praying with all these new sources of vaccination, we can get ahead of the variants that are rampant here. I actually had CV19 in Dec. so probably still have natural antibodies, but I heard the natural antibodies aren't holding up as well as the vaccination induced ones, so really need the shot ASAP. Too many maskhole idiots here who refuse to do the right thing.

Florida's numbers have been bogus right from the start.
And DeSantis will continue to keep a lid on it.
