(47 posts)You would prefer to remove non-lethal options such as pepper spray or OC gas thus shortening the steps needed to go to lethal?
Taking those options out doesn't mean that force won't be used. It just means a different kind.

(28,632 posts)Though most are misguided and collect various forms of socialism while at the same time decrying it... I wouldn't.
Whether that force is used on people we agree with or don't agree with, accepting that use of force perpetuates it.

(28,632 posts)The US exploded thousands of atomic bombs into the atmosphere in the Pacific, irradiating island countries. They've detonated above ground and below ground atomic bombs while soldiers and residents were nearby and received fallout. They allowed military bases and their suppliers to taint towns and cities without telling the residents... polluting the waterways. They've tested on soldiers without their knowledge, against their will or by being misinformed. They tested bacterial and viral experiments in the cities and towns to see how they spread. The list goes on and on.
Now, corporations, under the sanction of the US are destroying our food, water and environment for profits.

(3,411 posts)Everything you know about the Middle East is being filtered through the Corporate News Media, the same news media that helped to sell the Iraq war. Al Jazeera isn't much better because it's being filtered through the interests of Qatar, its owner.
If you really spent more time learning about the war in Syria, you'll find that this war isn't as black and white as we are led to believe.
