Authorities: 3-year-old boy shot to death in game gone awry
Zachariah Grisham, 24, has been charged with neglect of a dependent and reckless homicide in the death of Lance Wilson, according to a release from the LaPorte County Sheriff's Office. Following a probable cause hearing today, Grisham was ordered held in lieu of $100,000 bail, according to a news release.
Michigan City police were called to the boy's home on Farmington Drive in the Terrace Acres Mobile Home Park about 3:30 p.m. local time on Sunday, and found Lance shot to death, according to the release. The boy was found in the home, shot in the head, said LaPorte County Prosecuting Attorney Robert Szilagyi, citing information from the probable cause hearing.
Police asked sheriff's investigators to help, and the boyfriend was taken into custody.
Investigators found that Lance and Grisham had been playing a game, with the boy using his hand to pretend to shoot Grisham, and during the game, Grisham took out a handgun and, thinking it was not loaded, pulled the trigger, Szilagyi said. The boy was shot in the head, he said.

does that man not understand?
