This may sound farfetched, but the dominionist/quiverfull/patriarchal movement that has control of the R's right now, has been pushing home birthing (no midwive, only the Lord as a helper or an older daughter) as the only REAL Christian way to give birth. No hospitals at all, no doctors during pregnancy or during birth or afterwards. They are also pushing faith healing, but mostly only for females, it's not being pushed for men so much.

I truly believe we will see the R's refuse to pay for annual exams for women, or any preventive care for women like pap smears, breast exams, etc. I also believe they will soon refuse to pay for childbirth, since women for centuries did not go to the doctor to give birth. I think it's just part of the whole misogyny. I think there is tremendous anger against women on the part of some patriarchal males and they want us to SUFFER, really really suffer.

but I can't imagine what they think they can gain by this. Women just about always vote in numbers much greater than men. Women who are married and the spouses who provide for them will, in large part, be outraged at the immense individual costs they would now have to bear. The workforce is made up of about 50% women, and there are not nearly enough unemployed men to fill all the slots of women who'd be taken out of the workforce with this insanity. Costs today absolutely do not allow for single earner families to be able to come close to making ends meet. These people must be literally, clinically certifiable if they think they can take this much further than all the tongue-wagging they're doing now. We're talking about, what, 15% of the population that actually believes this shit? I think the silent majority has had enough, and this won't - can't - go on much longer, or there will be rioting on the steps of Congress.

The level of conspiracy this would take is off the scale. Even as crazy as some of these clowns are, I can't imagine they'd have the numbers and/or ability to carry out something like this. My dad was an officer (Lt. Col.) in the USArmy for over 30 years, and I know that there are some real decent people in the ranks who would never let something like that happen. They'd blow it up from the inside long before it ever got to level one planning. It's not easy to repeal a Constitutional amendment, and short of an actual military coup, which again, I just can't buy, that's what it would take to eliminate the right of women to vote.

But I have seen signs that the top leadership, at least in the AF, is openly Dominionist. A Major General my husband worked for during a joint assignment sent around an article to his officers that was frankly neo-nazi and written by a well-known white supremicist. Talked about eliminating the vote for women, eliminating education for women, outlawing birth control in order to make sure enough white babies are being born.

The MGen felt confident enough to distribute this stuff openly. I also have heard murmurs at various social functions that led me to believe some would be pretty happy if a coup happened - which admittedly is not the same as planning one.

Yeah, it's a big conspiracy theory, and maybe way out there, like tinfoil hat wearing out there, but a coup was attempted during the 1930's which thankfully failed and I have an awful feeling another attempt is planned.

11. Health care for women is a JOKE

The primary needs are for family planning, pregnancy and childbirth. The latter two are not covered unless the woman pays triple premiums for a family policy and that sucker better be in place before she even thinks of getting pregnant because they will not pay if they suspect she was pregnant before she got it.

It's a sick joke played on all the women of this country. It would not be tolerated in any other country, but this country is convinced all evil lies between a woman's legs and is 100% her responsibility to take care of, don't bother the nice men with it unless they're horny.

The whole structure is repellent.
