If the GOP forces a shutdown, Obama should ground all air traffic

If Obama were to furlough all TSA employees or the FAA's air traffic controllers, then air travel in this country would grind to a halt. The American public's backlash would be swift and harsh against the GOP for the shutdown and they would end it within a day or so.

As it is now, I don't think the GOP will be blinking anytime soon. If this shutdown occurs, it is going to be a lengthy one. The fanatical GOP will not budge until the public reacts against them.

that would save us money in more than 1 way, save us money, time running would take time they would otherwise be selling the country to the 1%, they could be in better shape to handle the pain of their decisions personally .

More often it backfires.

Everything bad thing this causes needs to have big blinking neon arrows labeled "their fault" pointing to the Republicans. Obama shutting down air travel doesn't do that.

I'm already disturbed by the amount of people buying into the Bircher arguments. Yours is a radical idea that might work under curtain circumstances but would most likely backfire. Too risky.

convincing the American people the GOP is responsible for all hardships endured during a shutdown. If the President shuts down any additional services by executive fiat the GOP will be able to shift the blame.

9. By all means, if it GETS RID OF THE RAILWAY LABOR ACT (which it won't)

Airline workers can't strike because of the Railway Labor Act,

The reasoning is because strikes "would hurt the economy" so they only let them strike if "released for cooling off", what that means that contracts don't expire they "become amendable".

What that means to you?

They can't act like a union and walk off the job! EVER!

It would not be to the Democrats' advantage to shut down air transportation. The result would be a huge blowback that would wipe out much of the blame on Republicans. It's not a good idea.
