Question about the government shutdown and social security direct deposits

My mother-in-law and some of my wife's clients receive social security. IF that shut down happens does that mean even direct deposits will be stopped tonight?

Social Security will not be affected at all, at least not for the immediate future. I receive SS through direct deposit, so I did some research online when I heard of the shutdown, and it seems all will be OK for us SS recipients.
