I read this and

was feeling so proud to even read about this man. A WWII vet is easy to praise.

Then I read the last paragraph....it made me cry.

Sad he had no family.

I remembering talking to a soldier who was at Battle of the Bulge. Horrible; but they were all so very brave.

and have to try to build other ones out of people we meet along the way.

It sounds like he did a good job.
