WASHINGTON – President Barack Obama met Friday with 16-year-old Malala Yousafzai, an advocate for girls' education and the target of a Taliban assassination attempt who was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize.

I really would not know what to say to them. Not because I'm in awe or intimidated, but because I'm terrible at small talk. And what would be appropriate small talk with the leader of the free world? Weather? Nice shoes? Love Michelle's dress? How's school, Malia?

Now, if Bo and his sister were there, I'd completely ignore the Obama and run over to play with the dogs. Because I'm totally nuts about dogs.

On my mom receiving my dad's disability payments. The VA was dragging their feet after he died and she was about to lose her house. So, I wrote him and told him our situation. Two weeks later, she got a call from the VA saying they received a call from the White House and they were going to process her claim.

about Malala. Partly because I would lose it and blubber throughout the whole show, which I did.
But more importantly of the fact it exposes me as a coward. After watching her I am more disappointed in myself as a human being than ever. I can only hope to rise to her courage and character. As I hope we all can.
