Cincinnati Issue #4

This issue involves basically a transfer of city pensions to a 401K-type pay in system in order to shore up a budget short fall. Now, here is what it involves. Out of state money is flowing into this issue. The issue has Tea Party written all over it. The city workers are being belittled as being part of the 'entitlement class'. From what I understand this has ten years to work and if the city budget is still at a deficit taxes will need to be significantly raised. The Cincinnati Regional Chamber and the AFL-CIO often do not agree on issues but on this one both strongly urge a NO vote. Both Mayor candidates are against it, Democrats and some Republicans are against it as well.

This is one commercial for it. Another commercial by another group makes no bones about this being a 'Tea Party' generated issue. I'm thinking after the stunt the Tea Party pulled in Washington recently "Tea Party" is increasingly becoming poison as far as getting an issue through. I'm seeing commercials with McConnell-Tea Party tie-ins being a negative as well as Boehner-Tea Party tie-ins. We're seeing a negative impact of the Tea Party in the Virginia Governor's race. Tea Party is poison. I think the fact that this is a Tea Party issue means this horrible issue will go down in flames in a big way next week.

She would like to work about 4 more years but if Issue 4 is passed she will probably end up retiring shortly thereafter.

It's amazing how people who have such a negative opinion of a city worker are some of the same people that spend every waking minute at home surfing the taliban-right tea party favorite websites until their brain turns to shit. Who are the lazy ones anyway?

In the end the West Virginia Tea Party group that backed this anti-worker issue was turned away overwhelmingly. Democrats and the majority of Republicans were against Issue #4. You can use a can of Simonize to polish a turd but you still have a turd.
