Obama leadership style raises question of 'who is in control?'

President Barack Obama’s seemingly hands-off management style is raising fresh questions and concerns that could upend his second-term legacy.

Claims by the administration and other Democrats that Obama didn’t know about sensitive matters in his own administration -- such as problems with the health care website and revelations of National Security Agency surveillance on foreign leaders -- have many in Washington scratching their heads.

“It all fits as part of a pattern. Who is in control? Who is running things? There are a lot of questions,” said Democratic pollster Peter Hart, who helps conduct the NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll, which Wednesday showed Obama’s approval rating dropping to an all-time low.

Obama has been hammered for being unaware of potential glitches that disrupted the launch of the online marketplace for Americans to browse and purchase health plans. Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius told CNN last week that Obama wasn’t aware of the we problems until “the first couple of days” after its launch.

The reality is that he IS lying...just like all politicians.

With our voters, it is political suicide for a politician to admit they screwed up....even when they clearly did. Anyone hired by any president knows part of their job is to take a fall if the situation comes up.

Thus, the article is true. However, it is true regarding every president and will probably apply to all future presidents.

.. it depends on how you define "control". No leader is ever in control or knows every aspect of what he is leading. If he is a really good leader, he puts people in positions where they will make the appropriate judgments and take the appropriate actions.

He says he didn't know we were listening to Merkels private phone. Do you believe him? Is he "in control" if his minions are doing such stupid shit?

He took a "hands off" approach to his "signature achievement". Maybe that was right maybe not but it hardly suggests one who is "in control".

And for the record, I'm still waiting for someone to point out what is factually incorrect about this article. Being critical does not automatically make it incorrect, despite what starry-eyed folks might believe.

. I said you can't have it both ways, either he was lying or he has minions that are out of control. Which is it?

If he wasn't lying, why hasn't he made a public example of a few of them?

Let me be more clear. I am of the opinion that this dust up with Merkel et al is gonna leave a BIG MARK. To dismiss this as "they all spy" and such is nonsense, yes they all spy but not in that way. The code has been broken and Obama should have gotten out in front of this and rolled a couple of heads at the NSA but he didn't.

But hey, whatever.

He is not god. He is a damn politician, like the rest of them.

If you have withheld information from me for five years. If the organization you are the head of has been hiding information from me for five years, I would almost certainly fire you. However, political considerations may mean that I might not fire you, but I am not going to put you in charge of examining all the activities of that group to find out what is going on.

That's even dumber than putting the fox in charge of henhouse security. That is putting the fox in charge of investigating how henhouse security was breached.

at being the Left's equivalent of FOX News, don't they? People love to link the two networks together as if they're mutual opposites, but a person would have to be a fool to think that MSNBC is as biased towards Democrats as FOX is towards the GOP. I would imagine that no real propaganda arm of the DNC would stress O's lower approval ratings or make an article like this, questioning his leadership.
