Have we taken a Moment to Applaud Rachael Maddow??

For being a phenomenal Journalist who actually takes the time to research a story before she reports it.

Let's hope Other wanna be Journalist on TV today decide to take a page from Ms. Maddow's playbook and do actual real reporting and not repeating talking points

UPDATE: and then tonight she did this!!!

She is so smart, she can look deep into a subject and find things that other never see. Sometimes she takes my breath away with what she is reporting. And you know that she has researched it and verified it before she airs her story. She is a real treasure and far above the other hacks on TV.

Now I have 3 options on line for MSNBC. Google Zahipedia and Rockin Rooster for the others. I refuse to pay for cable/satellite and then pay again by watching commercials. All that money to Comcast so they can buy a network and influence sports broadcasting to the point where all the big stuff is only on cable. MNF, NCAAFB, MLB playoffs and now believe it or not……..the NCAA Final Four will only be on TBS!

sometimes I think Rachel is talking down to me with her long set ups. I want to say "Get to the point already, you don't need to tell me its important first. Let me figure that out for myself."

I pretty much only watch Hayes anymore, although I miss him on the weekends. Kornaki (sp?) is okay but his speech impediment is distracting. And he's had this guest on for a couple of weeks in a row who is worse. The two of them together make me nervous.

And I"m really disappointed in Melissa Harris Perry on the weekends. If race and gender issues are not your only interests, you'll get bored.

Clone Hayes. He is whip smart. I never say "don't let them get away with that lie" with Hayes. He's on it.

however, he's much younger and this is an OP celebrating Rachel Maddow. My comparisons were made referencing her and her peers... I don't consider Hayes as having reached that point yet. He needs to stop interrupting his guests before he can advance much further in my view.

And yes, I do understand the time constraints of managing time and dialogue on a TeeVee production/presentation/show. He needs to loosen up on the control freak thing he exhibits and let people speak. He hasn't established a comfortable flow yet.

A bona-fife medical practitioner, or a dangerously distracted medical quack? I suppose he could simply stay in character and order his patients to "just leave me the hell alone!" if for some reason he was unable to diagnose their medical problems from what's available in Wikipedia entries.

I am a lifelong believer in the ideal of being "widely read" as it used to be called. But Rachel is so thorough, insightful, revelatory and delightful that I feel good about recommending a single news source.

in the grand scheme of the political landscape, and in hindsight, I would have rather seen her sit on this story for a couple years until Rand announced for the presidency and the primary campaign got fully underway. I'm afraid she has all but damaged the Randster to the point that he won't run. He has shown he can't take the rigors of a presidential campaign and probably doesn't have the balls to do it. We needed Rand as a top tier GOPrick to go head to head with Teddy the Cruzer to highlight just how crazy these guys are. Would have loved to see them debate each other. That would have been the perfect time to throw this true shit in the face of Rand. Still I loved the way Rachael exposed this fraud and love watching him squirm. Here's hoping his ego is bigger than his brain and he does declare for a presidential run and not deprived us of the primary debate comedy we enjoyed so much last time around.

I mean us faithful watchers see her drop bombshell revelations every week, but they never seem to pick up steam not even on MSNBC. But this one took off.

Look at Chris Hayes reporting on Chris Christies abysmal record on Sandy recovery, I doubt other news organization are going to pick up that story and run with it.

I remember Kieth Oldbermann would have to hammer a story over and over and over before it got picked up on other news organizations.

As far as she knew this Story would have not gone further than MSNBC. but because other news sources picked up on it and added to it, it grew to a BIG Story with Lightening Speed

Journalist Job Description

The core purpose of a journalist is to research, document, write, and present the news in an honest, ethical, and unbiased way. Although the method for reporting the news may be changing, the need for talented, qualified and educated journalists isn’t. A journalist job description still calls for hard work, ethics, quality writing, and, at its heart, the desire to tell the truth. As a journalist, you may find yourself:

interviewing people in a wide range of circumstances
writing copy for publication on a tight deadline
building contacts and sources for use in future stories
fact-checking the information given to you by a source
