Reality is that sometimes really stupid decisions have tragic consequences. Drive 100mph and kill yourself in a crash....stick a needle in your arm and OD on heroin.... stupidity doesn't "deserve" death, but it sometimes results in it.

(54,770 posts)Sketchy story makes it sound like robbers were leaving. I'm not sure a private citizen should play judge, juror, Jesus, executioner just because they have a gun in a situation like that.

(10,201 posts)They will get justice, however I'm doubtful that it will be the justice that they are demanding.
They did charge a man with 2 counts of 2nd degree murder in this case. He is the suspected getaway driver.

It is hard to see how that would apply to any other states.

(8,614 posts)"[William] had no right to lose his life over something that man could have called the police for," said Medina. "He took the law into his own hands and walked away scot-free."
"How about if people just start running around here, policing the city on their own? How much worse is it going to get?" said Peter Ratel, Medina's cousin.
There are also those on this forum that would argue that this is "vigilante justice". And that the armed robbers should not have been bothered. That the Police are the only ones that need firearms.
So where are they defending these men, and roundly disapproving of the actions of a CHL holder.
