Anti-abortion truck roams city

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - It's graphic - and it's out there for everyone to see.

It's a truck that doubles as an anti-abortion billboard, and it's hitting the early voting sites around the city.

...

The truck will be roving through the streets of Albuquerque for the next two weeks, sponsored by several anti-abortion groups.

"When people look at the brutal violent act depicted on the truck, they have to say, 'Am I for protecting these children on the truck, or am I against that?'" said Bud Shaver of Project Defending Life.

...

"It's propaganda, and it's staged. It's not every pregnancy. It differs," said Brandy Rodke, who is against the Pain Capable Unborn Child Protection Act, on Albuquerque's November 19 ballot. "It's a shock-entertainment - shock and awe - and I don't agree with it."

Others call it a reality check.

"I think it's necessary to get the information out to people," said Deena Shaprio, who supports the ordinance. "That this really what's happening to children. Do people really know that babies are being torn apart?"

OK. Free speech, etc. Cool.

""When people look at the brutal violent act depicted on the truck, they have to say, 'Am I for protecting these children on the truck, or am I against that?'" said Bud Shaver of Project Defending Life."

Where the hell were these same people when we were (are) killing people in other countries based on lies (and for lies)?? Why weren't they up in arms over bush and crew keeping folks from pictures of flag draped coffins? Why are they out promoting things like 'kill all them muslims, nuke the middle east, etc' and then pretending to be filled with love for others?

Not only were they for war, but they were willing to put us and children and children's children in debt over it. In 10 years when my granddaughter is working part of what she makes will go to pay for the killing of kids in another country who posed no threat to us here.

Don't want an abortion? Don't have one. Don't like smoking, don't smoke. Hate guns? Don't buy one. Think big sugary drinks are bad for people, drink yourself some water instead.

One would think that both sides of the aisle in politics would be pro-choice on pretty much everything. Instead people in this country run around whining about the rights of others they don't like, paying for wars to kill people for no reason, shrugging off a million of our own people wounded in said wars, and giving a huge pass to the biggest criminals in the history of the US.

Of course if people drove around an anti-war truck with the dead on it they would have been called un-american, not patriots, haters of freedom etc.

God, it must suck to be a republican these days and have to live with the fact that the liberals were right all along and cared more about our soldiers and their lives than you did. We tried to protect them from war and you marched them right into the firing line for no reason. Millions of dead and wounded because your dear leader desired it and nothing more. And you cheered him on. Support our troops to us meant saving their lives, to you it meant throwing their lives away to kill people of a different religion.

Not suited for the eyes of children and caring people. I hope someone rises to the occasion and spray paints the horrible intrusion on public decency. That would be an act of free speech!

if someone tried to do this about the costs of war. It really shows the true priorities of these people.

How to Strip the Wrap off a Truck

Tools needed:
propane torch, preferably a trigger-start one
paint scraper or 5-in-1 painter's tool
garbage sack to put the removed wrap in
stepladder

Procedure:
1. Use the torch to heat up the vinyl. This softens the glue. You don't want to heat it enough to scorch the wrap; just hit it with flame for a few seconds while moving the torch all the time.

2. Use the paint scraper to lift up enough of the edge of the vinyl sheet that you can get a good grip on it.

3. Pull!

4. Because the wrap will probably tear, use the stepladder to reach all the parts you didn't get off the first time.

A team of four to five pro-choice advocates could strip this truck back to its original white in twenty minutes. It's a box truck (flat sides!) and the wrap is new, so it'll come off pretty easily. Just make sure to get the hell out of there after it's off; they paid enough for this wrap that stripping it for them without asking falls into the felony category, if The Man decides to prosecute. 'Course, considering what it is The Man may also consider your doing this a public service.
