Chicken Little Democrats

Many Democrats are running scared over the failure of the Obamacare website and questions about folks getting canceled on their present policies, especially the Senators running for re-election.

Any day now, we can expect them to denounce the program in its entirety. They don't seem to have the courage to defend the program that they voted for?

The sky is falling! The sky is falling!

The President and the Party are on the defensive. Much of it stems not only from the failure of the website but also, the media reports of folks getting their policies canceled or their premiums skyrocketing. Then the President's comments about "if you like your plan, you can keep your plan" is played on a loop on the TV.

Democrats that cannot defend their home turf will have Republicans come into their home and raid their refrigerators. If they have a defense, they should use it. Perception becomes reality after a while.

What are the positives of the program? It gives the opportunity to 50 million Americans to get health insurance. Now, it will not be delivered to their door. They will have to put out a little effort to get the coverage but it is there, especially for those folks that have had their policies canceled.

Also, for parents with children that have pre-existing conditions, they can have peace of mind that they can get health coverage for their children. For folks with catastrophic illness, they will not have to worry about losing their homes and everything they have worked for their entire lives because the insurance companies will not cover them.

We could choose to leave these 50 million people out in the cold but we are better than that. People that get sick deserve to have a doctor to go to. We are not a cold-hearted people. We believe in taking care of our sick and elderly.

There are responses for Democrats that have the backbone to use them. Otherwise, they can hide behind their fears and face defeat in the next election.

Underfunded the rollout, years ago---I understand Some "defunding" occurred under Sequester.
If this is accurate-and it does make sense given the current GOP "personalities"..Why aren't Dems Hammering This Home? Coupled with the fact only 14/50 States did their own thing and the rollout is Smooth in these 14--the original plans for website development was never Intended to be burdened with so many More Millions of folks piling on. This is a burden on those 36 GOP Governors who are denying HC access as well as Jobs that would have been created, to their Own people.

for and enacting three years ago, it still is. Stand behind the President, stand up for the program, and help him make it work--too many Americans are counting on it for quisling political chickenshits to turn into Jello now.

I've seen it happen time after time. When the Democratic candidate allows himself to be put on the defensive and starts apologizing for the New Deal and the fair Deal, and says he really doesn't believe in them, he is sure to lose. The people don't want a phony Democrat. If it's a choice between a genuine Republican, and a Republican in Democratic clothing, the people will choose the genuine article, every time; that is, they will take a Republican before they will a phony Democrat, and I don't want any phony Democratic candidates in this campaign.

What Truman was ticked off about was alleged Democrats who curled into the fetal position, as you described. That's the problem, according to Truman. We must defend not only our principles but also our laws. This is especially important in the case of the ACA.

Always warning of a trap. Both types of Dems spend their time finding excuses for inaction.
