The birther conspiracy is, potentially, one of the Democrat's stronger weapons in 2014, but it seems to have mostly died down.
Surreally, nothing seems to stir it up as vigorously as more proof that it's wrong.
So in spring or summer, would it be worth Obama releasing more evidence - a new photocopy of his birth certificate, childhood photos, or something - in the hope that some high-profile Republicans will generate headlines claiming it's doctored?
Sadly, I suspect the answer is "no", but it's an idea that pleases me enough that I thought I'd share it.

OP
I think the fact that Obama isn't running for anything is what's irrelevant.

Absolutely. And even if he was it is irrelevant - Hawaii has been a state of this nation for years.

No, it's old. Dems would do better releasing Ted Cruz's birth certificate and laughing.

My dream is that Republicans will vote to impeach Obama; preferably in 2014 or 2016 when Democrats can get the most benefit from it.
But some some nice angry headlines about how he's not an American, and the colour of his skin has nothing to do with it, honest, would be pretty good too.

My local coffee roasters sells an Obama blend: Half Kenyan and half Hawaiian Kona. That ought to tell you something is up.

The women that signed/certified Obama's birth certificate died yesterday in a plane crash between islands.
Very strange, all eight other passengers and the pilot survived. Now that's what will get Rand Paul and the birthers back in the conspirators spin machine.

Indulging in conspiracy theories would cost the Republicans votes either way.
