(82,383 posts)See, that's what those MRA types miss! You have to feel sorry for them that they want it to be sex only.

(110,159 posts)know started a post that had benevolent sexism in it. and me merely giving the definition of benevolent sexism had "those" people behind it in an uproar of hyperbole and strawmne creating a fake issue to attack women with. you know. opening the doors.
oh, and the rape fiasco? was created by a poster that likes to get this shit going and started an OP for the giggles
so who are you blaming here. what "same people" were behind this?

(110,159 posts)the ugly in your thread that you were trying to keep out. there is a lot of misinformation being created and doing a good job smearing a small group. i do nto know how to handle but to allow and allow the nontruth and ugly to grow. or speak up when i see the nontruth.
thank you for this OP
no problem
I don't log in but I read every day almost and I have seen what has been going on
I don't understand how or why its allowed to go on but I have seen it
you are a strong voice for women and you shouldn't let yourself be quieted.

(12,081 posts)Why do all woman either have to be a madonna or a whore? My daughter is very well read. Most of her Christmas presents this year are books. Her strengths in school have always been reading, writing, critical thinking, and art. She is funny, and clumsy. She's a bit like Sandra Bullock in some of her clumsy movies like Two Weeks Notice. She also has purple hair and wears leggings and high heels. She is also very vocal about the fact that she is bisexual and is not afraid to talk about how much she enjoys sex. Anyway, I don't mean to get into it with you. I'm tired of the gender wars. People can go on hating sexy women if they wish. But I will always defend my daughter against the prejudice of the right and of the left. I may stay off DU for the next couple of days. I would rather enjoy my holiday than arguing with a bunch of strangers over whether my daughter is allowed to be sexy or not. I would rather spend it with my daughter, laughing and enjoying each other's company.

(12,081 posts)a new phenomenon. Dirty dancing, Elvis's hips gyrating on the Ed Sullivan Show, people dancing naked at Woodstock. What is so shocking about young people being sexual? I don't get it.

(10,287 posts)I listened to the poem and I came away from it with " a womans mind is her most attractive feature so I like a big mind"
whatever she wraps that mind in from purple hair and leggings to nothing but a scrunchy is secondary to the beauty of the mind
I have a daughter myself and you would never have to defend her from me mine has polychromatic hairstyles and piercings and ink and is very open with her opinion.
as for me I don't hate sexy women at all I love to be around them ...
as long as its a given that to me sexy means she has a big throbbing brain.
