****WCGreen Update -- Thursday January 16, 2014****

A Christopher Green update from his wife Laurie:
As it have been four days since my last post, this one summarizes the past few days. Chris has not yet awakened, so they ordered a CT scan and an MRI. They were both negative. Chris' nurse asked him to squeeze his hand and wiggle his toes. Chris did, just not consistently. This was reflected in his EEG - he is going in and out of semi-consciousness. Today, the doctor thought Chris will eventually clear. His lungs are doing well and he is starting to breathe on his own. There are stilll major problems and he is still considered critical. I am just so grateful for the baby steps. They are bringing me joy whenever I get the news. I am also heartened with all the support, prayers and good thoughts that are being directed towards Chris and I. Thank you so much.

i went through the same thing he is going through although mine was a cardiac arrest leading to 3-4 days on a "cold bed". i was out for 4 days. during that time i am told that i reacted to my grand daughters words.. i do not remember anything. i do remember going in and out of semi-consciousness i guess for at least a day. this really seems to be very encouraging but we know he still has a long way to go before he`s out of those woods his mind is in. hang in there peggy and thanks for your support of wc.
peggy..i can tell you now...once he realizes what happened and what you and others have done he`ll wonder why he deserved it.

I went through this with a friend who had a single lung transplant. So far, so good. I'm pulling for Chris to make it through this critical time.
