I don't know if meds or alcohol, or maybe both, but she was tanked and seemed to have a hard time not slurring her words and sitting up straight. I used to be a bartender and she was no different than a person who had been drinking for a few hours while polishing a bar stool with her ass.

Maher and Carville knew she wasn't ready for prime time but there was no time to sober her up before her appearance so it's convenient to say someone is recuperating from something and therefore still woozy from residual medication and pain killers. Her eyes were a dead give away of her condition even if she had managed to control her slurred speech and exaggerated gestures which she couldn't quite accomplish.

Her appearance was that of alcohol, but the combination of both is a bad thing. I hope Carville took her home and put her to bed before she could hurt herself.

so i'm not sure how he always is. but usually isn't he more stronger with his arguments and would tend to make more jokes if someone was acting as she was ?

but if he knows there is more going on i could see him just kiind of going along and letting things pass. like on the climate change thing.

people are overreacting a little bit. She's buzzed, and feeling good...but all threads I've seen made it seem like she was shitfaced, falling-down drunk. I've tended bar for several years, too. She's at the point where I'd be asking her who's driving her home, but not at cut-her-off status yet. Give her a break, it's Friday night, it's HBO, and it's Bill Maher...probably more than cocktails rolling around backstage, I'm guessing.

and she was too drunk to sing it well. Or medicated - my vote is for a strong dose of Oxycontin or equivalents.
She also looked horrible and was fidgety, flirty, gave sexual undertones to comments that did not warrant them, and kept touching Bill. She was 100 percent inappropriate.
Bill then looked at the spots where she had touched him as if he wanted to have them amputated.
She was a fright. I predict hers is a very unhapppy household this weekend.
I am waiting for - but will only read it with my eyes closed - the daughters' book on what it was like to grow up with these parents.

I would not be this critical of her, if there had EVER been ANYTHING about her that was tolerable to me.
She has blown it all, the plastic surgeon(s) definitely was a Democrat. He barely allowed enough of her face to remain moving for at least some of the venom to fall out in order to collect his fees.

It's believed that a little glass of wine or scotch will relax an often nervous guest. Even celebrities, used to the spotlight, tense up when they have to be themselves. However, when the guest arrives already in their cups whether from pills, herbs or alcohol, those little pre-appearance drinks will send them over into the state Mary was in.

I've never actually seen her and only knew that she was married to Carville. What a pair!

That show is a wonderful illustrative example to use to show people how illogical repubs can be. Every one of her comments was nonsensical. Bill was pretty good at exposing that.

OMG! She loves animals! WOW!! How very unusual! How compassionate! How utterly humane she is!!!

Typical hypocrite.

I've seen her many times over the years on these kinds of shows, and she never was in that condition. Although I usually don't agree with her, she usually come off as an intelligent person who has thought out her statements. Sometimes humorous, too.

It could have been painkillers, but I think alcohol or a combination of the two.

Is the most charitable description of her conversation.

Horrible plastic surgery didn't help. Medication or booze self-medication moat plausible. However, might be something more serious.

Carville looked like he was on edge, worried, the whole time Maher was trying to coax some half-cogent remarks out of her.

Their income probably took a whack after CNN cut them loose, with the lame reason being they wanted them in studio as opposed to remotes from Louisiana.

Hence the latest book trying to wring more cash out of the tired shtick of a marriage of political opponents.

Pathetic.

At the very beginning of their story so many years ago, they had some humor and spark. Then she fell off the cliff into GOP wacko land - moreso than he in the opposite camp. Her increasing harshness transformed her into a harridan from just an annoying flack.

Friends like Maher will try to prop them up for a while, but they are done.

A bit too much silicone in the lips which probably made her sound a bit blubbery - and before you say it, I've had nips and tucks so I have nothing against a girl getting a little work done - but otherwise she the same Cheney space cadet she always is.

I did find it interesting when Bill said he had never slept with Ann Coulter. Must be he prefers women. Or perhaps humans.
