The pressure's off. The GOPNRAteahadists have proven once again that they run the country.

(14,449 posts)People used to be able to concentrate on two things or more at once. I guess those days are over. It is all about Christie all day long. If something was to come of it like he resigns or is impeached, it might be worth it, but I don't think anything will come of it except MAYBE he will not be the Republican nominee which I don't for sure think he was going to be anyway. Hopefully we can return the talks to unemployment soon. I wonder if the people are signing up for other government programs available and that is why we are not hearing from those who are hurting.

Hell, even Harry Reid knew unemployment wasn't going to pass. This whole thing was nothing more than a ploy to get Republicans on record as opposing unemployment extensions for the 2014 congressional races.
They never INTENDED to extend unemployment this year. Hell, the Democrats don't WANT to extend unemployment or food stamps or anything of value to the poor. How the hell else do you think they're going to get the poor out to the polls to vote for them?
Wise up, people. We're pawns in their reelection campaigns, nothing more, nothing less. If a few of us starve to death before election day, they don't care.

(6,234 posts)They all get paid by the same company. Our two parties work the same, and actually so do many so-called activist groups. Just as the "Tea Party" was never grass roots, neither are the major environmental groups and what not -- those are often funded by the same businesses they are supposedly protesting.

(45,319 posts)and it would have happened anyway. Christie's scandal is a good thing, I understand some here support him and agree with him in opposing equality in marriage and choice in reproductive matters but I personally think it is great seeing him go down. He's not one of mine in any way, shape or form.
