Prosecutors won’t charge Ohio trooper who masturbated with boy to teach him about sex

Prosecutors declined to charge an Ohio State Patrol trooper with a history of domestic violence who admitted to a sexual encounter with a boy.

State trooper Ricky Vitte Jr. told his wife that he had watched a pornographic video and masturbated with the boy five years ago, according to a report issued by the Sandusky County sheriff’s office.

Investigators said Vitte told his wife he was attempting to teach the boy about sex, The Sandusky Register reported.

“Rick’s reasoning is the fact that he did not want (the boy) to feel pressured on feeling the need to have to have sex with someone, when he can fix those needs by masturbating to porn,” wrote Deputy Sean O’Connell after speaking to the trooper’s wife.

Vitte claimed a dresser blocked their view of each other as they masturbated, according to the report.

That is just crazy. What was the relationship to the teen? How old was he? This does not sound right. I will wait on others to comment but something doesn't sound right here.

to the level that he must have known it was wrong and I have a hard time believing wasn't getting sexual gratification from having the kid involved. Rape culture. As is the horrible thread with all sorts of suggestions that men can't be raped. Rape culture isn't just about women.

From what I could find, there were no felony level statutes that would apply to this behavior - and thus the statute of limitations would be expired. Does anyone have a better understanding of Ohio law?

The prosecutor should be fired immediately and sent straight to prison.

I am sick of this disgusting shit.

The justice system in this country is broke beyond repair.

How safe would you feel if this piece of shit pulled you over ????

Insane.

This country has gone totally insane.

and his lawyer on the protection orders has ties to the State Patrol...

From the story...

"His wife, his ex-girlfriend and the boy he spanked have all taken out protection orders against Vitte, but those were modified to allow him to continue carrying a firearm as a state trooper.

The Sandusky Register reported that Vitte has been represented in the past by attorney Dean Henry, who has worked with O’Connell for more than a year as a special prosecutor and defense county during the investigation of another case.

Henry is representing Vitte in a domestic violence petition filed by the trooper’s wife, who is apparently seeking full custody of their five children and has requested that Vitte not be permitted access to them."

Sandusky County Prosecutor Tom Stierwalt decided not to present the case to a grand jury because he said Vitte might have presented an explanation to justify this alleged actions.

And what, pray tell, could possibly "justify" this? Seems to me most boys manage to figure this option out for themselves, and don't need any adult to "teach" them. And besides, should it not be up to a jury to decide whether the guy's story constitutes "justification" for his actions?
