(45,319 posts)start of the whole 'political correctness' craze on the right wing. That book was funded by the John M. Olin Foundation, which also funded David Brock's attack book on Anita Hill, Alan Bloom's 'Closing of the American Mind', as well as works by Bill Bennett and Robert Bork. He comes from the deep primordial ooze of radical conservatism.
So this is great news!

To understand D'Souza's indictment for campaign violations, you have to understand Kenyan anti-colonislism.

(25,704 posts)Suborning perjury is a huge deal. Shit, without this the campaign finance stuff is fineable, not jailable.
Back during the Clinton years I would have supported jailing the Big Dog or anyone else who suborned perjury. It was not done in that case so I remain a supporter.
But if you give the first care about the law suborning perjury must be punished.

There it is. So here's a 2007 article demonstrating how Republicans use the political agenda to prey on people.
Darren Hauck for The New York Times
Nashawna Prude, 9, with a family photo that includes her grandmother, Kimberly, second from left, , jailed for more than a year for voter fraud.
By ERIC LIPTON and IAN URBINA
WASHINGTON, April 11 Five years after the Bush administration began a crackdown on voter fraud, the Justice Department has turned up virtually no evidence of any organized effort to skew federal elections, according to court records and interviews.
Although Republican activists have repeatedly said fraud is so widespread that it has corrupted the political process and, possibly, cost the party election victories, about 120 people have been charged and 86 convicted as of last year.
Most of those charged have been Democrats, voting records show. Many of those charged by the Justice Department appear to have mistakenly filled out registration forms or misunderstood eligibility rules, a review of court records and interviews with prosecutors and defense lawyers show.
