Don't SHRED that! Thanks! I think it was about 1984 when I woke up. I knew this country had taken a wrong turn and wondered what the world thought of us (internet wasn't really developed yet.) Sooooo, I purchased a short wave radio and started staying up all night to listen. I learned what the world thought of us. I heard a priest somewhere say that we have more slaves in the world than ever before because wages were going down, especially in the US. And of course I learned all the rest of what they thought. It wasn't good. It's a damn shame one has to go out in the world to find out what the heck is going on in our own country. I eventually drop-kicked my short wave one too many times and it bit the dust. But now I have the internet and DU and you.

Right wingers hate empirical evidence that proves they are wrong.

Neo-liberalism is an abysmal failure by every statistical index but they keep on pushing it.

They used those lessons,
and have done even better this time!

Worthy of note:
This most recent "Crisis" was perfectly timed to strike during the Change Over of Administrations in late 2007,
lending Plausible Deniability to BOTH Political Parties.

They have this "Jobless Recovery" scam Down Pat!
They know exactly what to do.
Works every time!

THIS ^ does NOT happen by accident.
It is the result of carefully planned and implemented Economic Policy.
It requires careful preparation, marketing, buying the right politicians, message control, courts packed with Conservative Corporate Rights Judges, and the marginalization and suppression of any opposition.

And THEY are STILL LEARNING!
This time around, we were presented with the most beautifully crafted piece of Political Scamsmanship I've ever seen. They called it "The Sequester",
and it is working beautifully!

No politician from either Political Party has to face the voters back home and say he voted to CUT the Social Programs the majority of his/her constituents depend upon.
"I didn't cut those programs!
The SEQUESTER cut those programs!"

There is that plausible Deniability again.
Nobody claims they WANTED The Sequester.
America certainly didn't want it,
but HERE it IS!
and Both Parties get to blame the other.
Now that is an awesome piece of Scamsmanship!!!

MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!

When practical solutions are considered radical, the concept of conventional wisdom needs to be re-examined.
