(979 posts)has to be brainwashed. It's all I can figure out. How ANYONE can vote for people so against their health, personal, and even monetary well being is beyond me. Our innate sense is that we do everything possible to survive, but women who vote for things like this have to have been taught not to trust their instincts. I just don't get it. I wish they would realize that thinking their one outcome in life is to be bred and put in their "places" by men is not the only option. I have a lot of religious friends from high school on Facebook that practice this way of thinking, and I just shake my head, because they are smart, intelligent women that could have done so much more with their lives. (by the way, not knocking marriage and having kids, just the whole "that's my only purpose in life" thing).

(36,461 posts)a woman I network with who is republican, talked to me about it. She was so angry. "They are not taking birth control away from me or my daughters!" Six weeks later she 'liked' Romney/Ryan on her FB page. What. The. Fuck.

(979 posts)people see it as empty threats sometimes. It's like, well they say this, but I doubt that it would really happen, nor would it affect me. And then when it does, the republicans blame it on the democrats, and then outrage! Why are they taking away my freedoms?!?! Because you voted for that, that's why. People can't seem to have common sense on this stuff because of ideologies and whatnot. They take the bad, with what they perceive to be the "good". I'm still trying to find that good because all I ever see is that the republicans hate everyone except the people in office and the corporations that they benefit.

They need to be removed in 2014, preferably to a hospital where they can get the help they need.
