Alaska's Polar Vortex EXchange (APVEX) program has been a smashing success. Many of our polar vortices have been able to visit other parts of the United States and Canada, and have experienced cultures and destinations that most Polar Vortices never imagine visiting.

And since this is an exchange program, we've been visited by the Subtropical Jet. And while the Subtropical Jet is a bit disruptive of our winter routine, I think all Alaskans are generally enriched by the experience. Anything worth doing is worth a little inconvenience.

That's what I saw on a weather channel ticker early this morning.

The bulbs are peeking up here in western wa this week, too...that's way too early for my yard, for sure! We're finally back to rainy days and maybe even getting some snow up in the mountains.

Flowers BLOOMING up there this time of year can only bode disaster for the remaining glaciers.
