I cant help but be amused

But those living in the South are furious about the inaction of government, and difficulties faced because of the storm. Aren't these the same folks that hate government and want it defunded and made smaller?

thankfully I am able to work from home and did not find myself out in the traffic chaos yesterday or today.

While I agree with you the conservatives in Georgia, and throughout the South generally, consider government the enemy.

But with respect to this storm people are not so angry at the "size" of government and government services (e.g. availability of road equipment for sanding, plowing, salting, etc.) but rather the lack of governance and leadership.

People expect the state and respective municipal executives to demonstrate leadership by encouraging and wherever possible requiring school districts to close schools ahead of a storm, encouraging businesses to allow employees to tele-work and having an action plan in place.

Here it isn't necessarily the "size" of government or lack of resources. I don't want my tax dollars being spent to purchase and maintain a large fleet of cold weather road equipment that is only going to be used every 2-3 years.

It is the lack of good planning, coordination and sound decision making that has people angry.

Their hands-off style of leadership is an abject failure.

There is no such thing as Global warming. There is no such thing as climate change. There is no such thing as Global warming. Its all a hoax. Its all a hoax. The science is not in. The Science is not in. Repeat after me. This is what republicans hear when weather anomalies happen. So therefore if they don't believe in climate Change or Global Warming, there is nothing to prepare for. It will never happen to them. Got it. And yes they want smaller Government until they need Government. And had they Listened to Government Weather reports they would have stayed home. And to believe in weather you must believe in Science and in the repug party that will never happen. Its God's will.
