One of my RW friends sent me a 30-minute Youtube screed yesterday of some clown "proving" that evolution isn't real. He shoved his camera in the faces of people asking them questions like "what evidence do you have of evolution?". When they started to give him a thoughtful answer, such as the fossil record, he cut them off mid-sentence, saying "Wait a minute. Were you there? Did you see it with your own eyes? That isn't evidence."
Of course, idiots like that don't have nay answer for the very detailed historical map that is contained in our DNA records. That is the most damning evidence of all because recent advances in DNA decoding allow us to see not only exactly how the evolutionary steps happened and when, but it also shows us which species cross-bred with others. And when you combine that with the fossil record, you can tell with some precision WHERE the forks happened.
The latest findings in this area seem to indicate that our genetic disposition to diabetes and some other common diseases came from "our branch" cross-breeding with Neanderthal -- you know, like when an intelligent person mates with a Republican.
