I work the monthly county Republican women's club luncheon .....

and this week the program was pretty good - wounded warriors - vs last months Sharia Law speaker.

But what got me was the local Teabilly who called Sen Cronyn an "Obama Democrat" over the budget. After as it was breaking up I heard more remarks regarding chagrin over the GOP giving forum to the Tea Party than anything said in any sort of support of the gas bag.

Texas may not go Blue by 2016, but its going to get bluer.

What you witnessed were GOP loyalist speaking out against the Tea Party. Expect more of it in the future, since the GOP is currently at war with their extremist wing. Maybe Texas Republicans are even having a bit of buyers remorse over Ted Cruz since he's shown himself to be such a total political failure, not to mention an idiot. Luckily for Cornyn his Tea Party challenger for his seat is a complete train wreck or Cruz could have found himself in more hot water back home after his latest stunt.

Let's hope the Democrats in Texas have plans to use this division to their advantage. It would be an amazing victory to gain some ground against the Republican stronghold there, not to mention it would be quite a kick in the teeth to the Republicans.

Which appears to have been a valid concern. Everything I've read makes his opponent appear to be a bumbling buffoon. From your perspective would you agree with that assessment?

"Teawad" I love that by the way. I'm going to use that in the future.

listening to that crap and still smiling pleasantly without doing something bad. I'd probably be accidentally spilling liquids that stain on them.

It just does not matter. Be they what they are, they are all 'conservative'. And that is the problem. The conservative model is the problem. The I got mine, poor shaming, red neck ideology that is set in the culture like stone. The ingrained intolerance that is conservatism, is the foundation of Texas culture. It does not matter if they elect a D.
I am sorry to say this. However in a national race, it would be huge, for Texas to go blue.
