If you believe a great nation is built on illegal wiretapping, spying on citizens and armed surveillance drones...
If you have faith in Goldman Sachs, Citibank, JP Morgan Chase and taxpayer subsidized mortgage fraud...
If you celebrated NAFTA as it decimated communities and lowered the standard of living for millions of US workers...
If watching Monsanto force GMO products into your food chain fills you with patriotic pride...
If you love having your meat sent to China on boats, processed in Chinese factories and sent back on boats to your store...
If you make too much money and hate having a job...
Then, get ready to celebrate because the Trans-Pacific Partnership is ready to roll!
- Super-charged with extrajudicial power allowing corporations to bypass state and federal laws!
- Fortified with intellectual property provisions to protect PhRMA by keeping labor costs low and drug prices high!
- Big, bold tax incentives for shipping US jobs to Vietnam, Brunei, Singapore, Laos, Malaysia!
- Slave-like working conditions at a 50-75% discount over India and China!
- Unconditionally endorsed by the Chamber of Commerce!
Act now and you'll also receive this beautiful, Made-in-China medallion commemorating 40 years of off-shoring American jobs and technology to India - Absolutely Free! (Extra shipping and handling fees apply).

(62,325 posts)request the fast tracking of the TPP? Are you saying he doesn't want it, or that there is much opposition to his support for it that it won't pass? Either way, I think you are wrong. It will be held up until AFTER the election. Then, possibly during the Lame Duck Congress, it will be passed, IF we the people are stupid enough to continue to do what we have always done, just blindly support the 'team'.
As far as I know, this President fully supports the TPP. I would love to see proof that I am wrong.

(62,325 posts)it? How on earth can they do that? He supports it. He wanted it fast tracked before Congress even had a chance to read it. Stop making silly excuses for this president. He doesn't seem to want any excuses. He outright supports it. And the people have been effective so far, in opposing that support and hopefully will continue to do so.
Why do you think a Dem president would support such a Republican trade 'deal'??

(45,251 posts)We may have more clout on the state level than we do in D.C.
Legislators from all 50 states have already written an open letter on this, but keep up the pressure and insist the Governors get involved, too.
As Obama recently pointed out, many of them aspire to higher office, so they may be inclined to pay attention to voters in their respective home states.

(3,128 posts)I still can not forgive Clinton for NAFTA, and Clinton is probably the brightest president we have had in decades. Obama may not have Clinton's smarts but he sure is willing to sell out the U.S. middle class as Clinton was.
Flame me if you like, but TPP is NOT what Obama sold us when he asked us to trust him with our country.
