(65,616 posts)how things stand, hell no. Can I see a scenario where it would be required... yes. But that yes is way... WAAAAAY for off in plausible scenarios. I think as long as the stay in Crimea than nothing more should happen than crumbling and token slaps. If Putin spreads to other Ukrainian territory than a much strong action by Nato (because the UN security council will be tied up by Russia) would need to take place... in the form of sanctions of some kind. If they invade Western Ukraine... we can speak further if that happens.

Maybe we could move the Afghanistan force to Ukraine via rail through Russia?
