Ukraine won't sell. where should our next military adventure take place? Nigeria? Lots of oil, lots of western corporations doing business there, lots of massacres and fundamentalist groups, lots of splits to exploit. Syria? We could always revisit Syria and it almost did sell.
I don't think President Obama would like to preside over another war and I don't think he's anything but reluctant to send forces anywhere, but there are powerful interests that absolutely want the U.S. engaged militarily.

(53,032 posts)Because nobody else is talking about. I haven't heard one person who knows anything about foreign policy or the administration say anything but there is zero chance the US will act militarily in the Ukraine. Ginning up war hysteria is irresponsible.

(27,993 posts)The #1 military is running into real world constraints on its growth while #2 seems to be growing rapidly with no limits in sight. (shades of Britain and Germany circa 1913)....
Does #1 peacefully slide into the #2 slot, or does it pick a fight while it's still #1? How will nuclear weapons figure into the calculations?
