Look.... Bush isn't President anymore and I never voted for the Sumbitch.

I am NOT going to simply ignore egregious empire building by a megalomaniac out of some misguided tendency towards self-loathing.

Arrogant and embarrassing indeed since they don't have anything that directly involved us. Right?

is just simply stupid and a war-mongerer. If you want the U.S. to fight in Ukraine, and we do end up involved militarily, I'll expect you to enlist. If you're not willing to enlist in a war you're cheering on, you're either a coward or you should just shut up.

But if those in the corridors of power think a war is in the national interest of that nation, it matters little what the people want. So let's hope ours in those corridors either do not want a war (which is very likely, this could get total war fast). Or do not miscalculate and get war anyway.

Why I am not thumping chests or anything.

Suffice it to say, those who want a war, for whatever moral reasons ( morality does not enter national interests either) do go join and beat up the draftees. Near worst case scenario multiple nations will be calling up draftees.

Yes, that was the lesson I learned from the Iraq war. I marched, I called and all that. I don't intend to do that again. I just know we go to near worst case, there will be a general call up and a draft. This is real politic and areas of influence. We have been poking them for too long. And the 19th century called, Russia wants it's empire back. Anybody who understands history knows this.

For the record, all this is cyclical, so I expect Russia to poke us and our areas of influence soon. Hell, they docked an intel ship in Havana the other day...anybody care to call in the 1960s? I am actually shocked it received a passing mention in our media, and was not escalated. If they wanted war though, it would have been escalated I suspect though. So that is a good sign.

the leaders of the nations sit around joking about sending troops against each other with a nod and a wink

in order to show us why we can't have good stuff. Hell, if the arms dealers are losing money, who is going to

contribute to the parties that don't want healthcare or education for their citizens? I keep getting the feeling

that as soon as one war dies down another constantly takes its place just to spend the tax dollars that could

be used for better things.

The United States has always been at war in some form or other since I was born in 1951, do I think it will ever

change?
