Someone answer this please...

Rethugs, cons, and baggers. No matter what you call them they are one in the same. They make it clear they do not want safety nets for Americans. Now I know for a fact that Rethugs, cons and baggers alike need and use safety nets. Why do they make believe that they never use them and wont if need be? At work I asked a few of these people if their children were hungry and they were borderline homeless would they use a safety net such as food stamps, medicaid, housing assistance etc. They said no way. Some even said they rather go without than use it. Are these people bullshitting or are they that brainwashed and hateful?

TV awhile back talking about and to right wingers on unemployment and food stamps. Even though they took the money they said it wasn't the governments job to provide a safety net that it was the duty of churches and such.

2. Hypocrisy comes easily to those with binary thinking.

Anyone who sees the world in black/white terms has to rationalize hypocrisy on a daily basis. Be it pathological or just a desire not to bother with the shades of gray that exist in reality, trying to make the real world fit into a binary view requires dismissing the evidence in front of them.

since the days of the Great Depression. That's when the rich tried to brand the poor as lazy for needing help. Pile on the fear of 'different' people with all the social changes in the 1950s, and you get the right wingers of today.

Every natural disaster, they find some poor asshole who climbs out of the slimey wreckage of their lives and thanks God for saving them and put them on TV.

It takes mind-numbing denial to think like that. You really only find it among the deeply religious. It's what perpertuated the Dark Ages for centuries, Cardinals in silks bullshitting the peasants about how well God is taking care of them, and of course, telling them about all the gold they'll have in the afterlife.

Pretty easy to transfer that to the willfully ignorant.
