If you have a dog or cat or family member, love them.

Take an aspirin, advil, something like that and two glasses of water.

Get back to us in the morning, I'm sorry for you're having a bad night.

I mean this.

Chill with a warm cup of milk and honey then go the hell to bed.

Tomorrow is a new day, a new start, one day at a time works.

I'm in AA and, though I'm a liberal atheist, it taught me how to get and stay sober. In April, I'll have five years. (One Day at a Time, still... *sigh*) "Don't quit until the miracle happens!" It took me a really long time to "get it," and I keep going to meetings because I need to remember where drinking brought me...

fellowship.

That said, I want to chime in that no matter what anyone may try to pass off to you as some sort of gospel, "shop-worn" absolute truth, there are many different roads.

The above-referenced one works for some people. Other ways work for others.

Don't let anyone bully you into thinking there is only one way.

Checked out the self-deleted OP and he was definitely addressing the DUer who replied. But it is kinda nice that so many replied to this OP with messages of support. Didn't see the deleted OP, but hope this makes a difference...

I know plenty of people who are still suffering, and it sucks. One nice thing about the internet as opposed to the way it used to be, is there's always someone, somewhere.

But if it's here on DU, chances are good that there are others around who will want to help, or at least sympathize.
