Which, btw, is how the real Keys residents refer to OR. They blow into town for their supplies and we are expected to bow to them. When they have to wait in line for hurricane supplies, they like to say, "Do you know who I am?"

To be fair, there are many nice and generous people who live at Ocean Reef. Our city park olympic size pool and pirates kiddy ship pool was donated to the children of Key Largo by a very lovely lady, and many of our local charities benefit from the kindness of some of the residents there. But it is well known that the majority of the residents keep within the strictly gated community, flying in and out of the private airport for four months of the year, and then returning to their northern mansions that were built by their enterprising ancestors.

One of the residents once asked me what was meant by a mortgage. (I used to work there) Her grandfather had invented some kind of engine part, and to her memory, she had never had the first concern about money. If she wanted something... House, car, boat... She simply made a phone call to her nice bank person.

Most of the Keys residents don't even know that they are there, since the community is 20+ miles to the north, past a long stretch of secluded highway where no construction is allowed. Coincidence? Ha Ha.

And to be fair, you will see plenty of "ethnic" faces... As long as they clock out at the front gate by 5:00. Somebody has to do the cleaning and yard work!
