Russian Roulette: The Invasion of Ukraine (Dispatch Seven)

(It's not Russia yet edition)

VICE

In dispatch 7, Simon is back in the Crimean capital of Simferopol, where both pro and anti-Russia demonstrations are dividing the region. Pro-Russia protesters believe that the country's strong economy will help Crimea, while anti-Russia protesters feel that their land has been taken over by bandits.

interesting how actual reporting from on-the-ground gets little traction here...

Nobody has time to watch a 10 min video with truth LOL

best to listen to more battle tested guys with gray hair than a bunch of young punks on either side.

I really enjoy his reporting.

The two parts I want to point out:

1) just around the 2 minute mark he interviews a guy who is Russian who is against Russia taking over Crimea

2) at the 12 minute mark he interviews an old guy who gives what I think is perhaps one of the best arguments for being against this whole mess. Then some young punk steps in and asks him if he is for the referendum and he says no. The punk calls him a "provocateur". What comes next is worth seeing. The old guy then hands him his ass on a platter.
