Watch what happens when a pug interrupts a standoff between police and an armed robber:

An intense standoff between police and an armed robbery suspect outside a home in Phoenix, Arizona took a momentary turn to the whimsical on Wednesday after an audacious pug breached the barricade to try and pick a fight with the SWAT team's K9 unit.

the pug was wanting to play/get to know the police K9, rather than pick a fight with him/her.

And why are the owners allowing it to interfere with police business? I'm not seeing that as funny. Bad enough that people let their dogs run loose and harass people and their dogs all the time just trying to take a walk. Nothing funny about that either.

Why am I expected to believe that this dog is a stray? And even if it was a stray that's still the fault of some git throwing their dog out into the world or at the least not securing it.

No matter how you slice it some dog owner fell down on the job of securing their dog and keeping it safe as well as keeping everyone else safe from their loose dog. What the hell does not seeing the owners in the video have to do with it? Do you see anyone in the video other than the dogs and the police officers? Am I to believe from that that there was no people there at all for which the barriers had been set up and from which this unleashed menace escaped from behind just because they didn't appear in the video? Are you somehow not aware of what an absurd excuse that is? Believe it or not I have some videos of my dog playing in my yard... is one to believe because they can't see in those videos the parking lot on the opposite side nor into any of my neighbors' yards that they just must not exist? That there is simply nothing at all to see outside the video frame instead of all that stuff just not being videoed?

Now I'm going to go walk my dog on a leash like I always do and hope that no asinine dog owners are letting their dogs run around loose to harass me and my dog like there often is because those owners are too lazy or too uncaring to secure their dog even for it's own safety never mind the safety of others that shouldn't be forced to come into contact with it. Somehow for all the many many many years that I've owned dogs I've never had one get loose nor purposefully allow it to be loose and thus out of my control. Wow, who would have thought it was so easy to be a responsible dog owner.

There's nothing cute or funny about someone's loose dog being allowed to run roughshod over the neighborhood and where it could be hit by a car, shot by the police or neighbor, beaten up by other loose dogs or neighbors, etc.

No. It's expected. Too bad so many dog owners fall down on that job like the owners of the dog in the video.

if its a stray, I hope they picked it up and took it to a shelter. It is funny to watch, but not when you think about the implications.

other than wanting to meet and great an aggressive dog. More often than not it means "I don't want to get in a fight with you, but if you get in my immediate airspace or those of whom I'm protecting acting aggressively I will eat off your face and tie you into a neat package with your own entrails."

As much as he likes them. He gets too excited, and cats are damn good at looking out for themselves and can take out a dog's eyeballs so fast it'd be staring up at itself before it figured out what happened.

I like cats, but I'm not a cat person. It sucks that I'm allergic to them or I'd have liked to pet the neighborhood kitties we used to have. They also did a great job in keeping the rodent population in check. In the two years with no kitties in the neighborhood that go outside the damn mice have gotten into everyone's houses, and the tiny little shits defy every trap ever made no matter what you bate them with.

We've only had them the last two cold seasons. Just when there were suddenly no more outdoor kitties. I miss Psycho Kitty. She used to like to hide under the pine tree near my house and leap out at anyone that passed by, waggle her arms at them and then run away. After two years I still have the habit of looking toward the pine tree when ever I go by expecting her to pop out and do her arm waving thing at any moment. Also with the loss of Psycho Kitty I've had birds that like to sit in my tree and crap in my pool. We didn't used to have birds that hung out that close to our houses.

My dog is useless when it comes to the mice. He won't go anywhere near one at those rare times they show themselves. But I'm glad of that because if he caught one he'd take it into my bed and eat most of it leaving generous bloody smear for me to deal with. He once took the toilet plunger into my bed to snack on. I came very close to deciding to burn all the sheets, blankets and mattress. Dogs seem to love to do things that they know will gross you out for just that reason.

Granted, it was a pug, so maybe they didn't even realize it was a dog.
