Listening to the police scanner and they have a ton of shit they are dealing with tonight.

Edit to add: in last five minutes we have had missing person, narcotics, drunk drivers, bar fights, domestic violence and lot of other crap.

really hate on cops. I think they spend so much time dealing with stupidity that it must get to them occasionally. It has to be hard to deal with so many senseless fools day after day, and still be polite and calm.

The more I watch the police the more I wonder if we are better off dealing with the lawless without them, or dealing with our police who conspire to fuck the poor. Am getting to where I would almost rather wild west it against the criminals than to be controlled and stuffed away by the for profit prison system.

Statistically, it's a very rare occurrence, and when it does happen we often (and rightly) hear a great deal about it.


The prevailing sentiment on DU seems to be that all cops are terrible by default, based on that small and disproportionately visible sample.

A disabled vet once cut me off in traffic really badly. Should I therefore assume that all disabled vets are terrible drivers?
