Do you think Bush's misdeeds in Iraq excuse Putin's today? That it's a tit-for-tat game that's being played?

Do you think there's equivalent leadership in both nations? We do change our leadership every four to eight years. Putin's been hanging on for a quarter century.

The points I was making were not at all complex. Nor were they "strange." They were basic and obvious.

And it's not "Al Graib" -- it's Abu Ghraib. Good grief, if you're gonna try to lecture people at least get the details right. That's one of the most iconic photos of that sad and horrific chapter in our history--anyone who doesn't recognize it would have to have been asleep at the switch.

What part of "Two wrongs makes a right" suggests that the wrongs were committed by the same individual? And in case that wasn't clear, the follow on sentence should focus the easily discombobulated to the point.

Here, let me quote it for you, since you're playing the obtuse, naive "duuuuh, I di-n't know" game:

Don't post "shock content" or porn.
Do not post or link to extreme images of violence, gore, bodily functions, pain, or human suffering for no purpose other than to shock and disgust. Do not post or link to pornography.

Now, don't pretend you weren't told. Since you're "new" here, here's the link to the TOS, you need to read it: http://www.democraticunderground.com/?com=termsofservice

Tue Mar 18, 2014, 02:17 AM
Mar 2014

Surely they have been held accountable for their crimes?

Did you know that a child was tortured in Abu Ghraib?

Any Democracy who lectures others on Human Rights issues must surely have dealt with their own war criminals before lecturing the world on the issue?

'Two wrongs make a right'.

Well, nothing can make atrocities of such mammoth proportions RIGHT for the victims. People were tortured to DEATH. Women were raped, children sodomized. Nothing can make that RIGHT.

But there is some small comfort when justice is done for the victims, and for a nation in whose name these atrocities were committed.

But what if a nation refuses to hold its war criminals responsible? What if its War Criminals appear on its national media as respected 'experts' on Foreign Policy?

What would you say about such a nation?

If it wasn't our own?

I don't know where you were when Bush the Lesser was installed in the White House, but I was in the streets and everywhere in my community by the time the propaganda was in full swing, months before "Shock and Awe."
