1) assuming there is a God and 2) assuming that the author understands this God's opinions more clearly than other men.

Phelps was an asshole and now he no longer exists just like all the great men and women, and assholes, that have come before him.

It seems stupid to me to take pleasure in the idea that Phelps was mostly right, but he got one thing wrong, even though he was following the law of the book that purports to be law of God.

Or maybe I'm just tired of seeing the same old St Peter/pearly gates cartoon, one of the most overused and unoriginal cliches in political comics, a field plagued by the lack of subtlety and originality.
