Lawmaker Wants Pregnancy Tests in Bars

Alaska state Sen. Pete Kelly (R) "is declaring war on fetal alcohol syndrome, and he's proposing to place state-funded pregnancy tests in bars and restaurants so that women can figure out if they're pregnant before drinking," the Huffington Post reports.

"But he also told the Anchorage Daily News this week that he opposes increased access to contraception, because birth control is only for women 'who don't want to act responsibly.'"

Women, regardless of reproductive status, are autonomous adults who do not surrender their rights the moment they become pregnant.

If so, I can see the next step. Ordain all bartenders. Then, demand not only pregnancy tests, but marriage certificates. Any pregnant woman who can't produce the latter will be forced to undergo a true "shotgun wedding" before being escorted from the bar.

DAMN IT ALL TO HELL, WHAT ABOUT MEN ACTING RESPONSIBLY!
