So what do you think now? still think the new Egyptian Government is better

than Morsi?

Some of us predicted that this was a very bad thing, but plenty of you were all rah rah about it.

Have fun defending that government- because I know you will defend it.

1. I'm reminded of a line from a not so good action movie...

It's from Congo.

"Every time they have a government coup or takeover, people start settling scores, and with what's been happening around here, there are lots of scores to settle."

New boss, same as the old boss. Lather, rinse, repeat.

Not sure why this current bunch is supposed to be that much worse than Morsi's crowd, though....Both sides have their hands washed in blood...

It's like Ukraine -- watch the new regime closely and wait a few years (if it lasts that long), and THEN make a proper assessment...

6. Is this about those condemned to death?

Well, there is justice and there is justice.

Maybe the condemned deserve their conviction? Maybe this condemnation will make them think twice before they condemn others to their style of justice?

I think it odd, really, that a post such as this without any real background or basis is even made. Guess it is just typical flame material thrown like a Molotov cocktail.

Though it will surprise me if we see 10 executions of the 500+; you pass that kind of sentence to then clemency it, not to carry it out.

Rather than the indiscriminate reign of terror from above.

Egypt has been quiet of late. The revolution may be working.

You'd think regimes would have figured that out by now, but outside of a few they haven't.

9. I can think of only 2 DUers who were for the coup.

I mean legitimately for the coup. MADem and Daniel__77.

Most of us, even people who dislike the MB, were against it.

edit: I see there are two others, RobertEarl and AverageJoe who are for it I guess... well that comes as no real surprise there...

The one who wanted us to liberate Libya with bombs?

Now look at the mess you supported. You have some balls to show up here and say anything like you have. Balls? Nah, just warmongering chickenhawk chickenshit.

But yeah, it comes as no surprise that you'd support Egypt's violent, murderous coup. You know Sisi has killed more and arrested more than Morsi and the intrim government combined yeah? Your anti-violence rhetoric falls on deaf ears.

So while I may disagree with him at least his motivations are clear. McCain, and other fascist supporters, well, what can I say.

Haven't see him post in awhile (one of DU's originals)... hope he's well despite our disagreements.

13. they both suck

if i was there i can see myself wanting to get rid of both. the problem is that most people protest and want to get rid of the govt for good reasons but the certain types will take advantage of it and get power .

16. The protesters are more liberal than the population.

They'd agree with you. They didn't count on the MB taking so much power but because they were under a junta for so long they decided a coup was at least in their interest. Had they simply waited it out the MB would've been marginalized.
