they seem to feel that this wasn't exactly a wise use of taxpayer dollars. I ask, what price can you put on the truth? (apparently its not a million dollars!)
Please note the second paragraph! It looks like the editorial board at the Ledger has been enjoying the photoshop work of some DU'ers-cue the Seargant Schultz/Christie Picture!
Christie's Bridgegate investigation is baloney: Editorial
It cost New Jersey taxpayers at least a million bucks, but heres what we finally know for a fact: Gov. Chris Christies lawyers think hes innocent.
He knew nothing nothing! about those controversial lane closures at the George Washington Bridge in September. Thats the official conclusion of their internal investigation, the actual content of which we have yet to see.
What we know already, though, is that it involved 70 interviews, none of which was with any of the three people at the center of the scandal.
Bridget Kelly, who infamously wrote, Time for some traffic problems in Fort Lee; Bill Stepien, the governors former campaign manager; and David Wildstein, Christies appointee at the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, all refused to be questioned.
But no matter. The governors lawyers may not have talked to the right people, but they talked to a lot of people, which makes this a comprehensive and exhaustive review, they say.
And thanks to that diligence, taxpayers are now paying for the same thing three times: Once for a real investigation by the U.S. Attorneys office, again for the Legislatures probe on behalf of New Jerseyans, and now for the governors overpriced, artificial knockoff.
Imagine what U.S. Attorney Chris Christie would have said. Were guessing nothing he would have laughed. Can you imagine him deciding not to indict somebody because an internal probe had found him innocent?

Mastros firm is also investigating Hoboken Mayor Dawn Zimmers allegation that Christies top officials threatened to withhold Hurricane Sandy aid if she didnt support his favored project. One million bucks says it finds Christie innocent again.
The governor paid a lot of money to have his lawyers find nothing. Now he owes taxpayers a refund.

From the Governor's Office Press Release:
This mornings story in the Times drills down on the comprehensive scope of the internal investigation being conducted by Randy Mastro of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher, its exhaustive nature, and the full and unfettered cooperation provided by Governor Christie and his administration to ensure its thoroughness.
and speaking of delusional, does this guy still think he can run for president?
Patrick Murray, director of the Monmouth University Polling Institute, said the endorsement of the Times story by Christies office only feeds the suspicions harbored by critics that the report is being prepared to insulate the governor and keep him presidential ambitions intact.
When this report comes out it was already going to be scrutinized as being pro-Christie because the person who did it was hired by Christie, Murray said. That is the impression were left with.
A key tell was Mastro himself being quoted for the Times story, Murray said.
If Im doing an internal investigation I want that law firm completely mum until that report is complete, he said. The only quote should be no comment.
