one out of ALL of them.
how can a bribe work, if they arent all in it together?

(6,896 posts)they are all on the take.
they rack up slush funds, anything they can get away with.
and they dont always get away with it, and it does not make the papers.
I think the facts we know speak loudly regarding the ones we dont.
Not that I get mine from the bee.
that would be like taking a moron pill every day.

(16,038 posts)to making arrests in drug cases. ..Most distribution cases begin with an informant. This was probably discovered because the dealer was arrested, found to not have assisted, or proclaimed protection during the arrest.
they arent arresting the distributors and manufacturers that make the payoffs.
they are hassling gardeners who would be working legally under 215
IF THE LAW WAS BEING FOLLOWED.
tell me some more fairy tales I love it.

(2,467 posts)The link shows a good picture of the illegal activity.

If fresno is anything like where I live the majority of busts are illegal grows under 1821545.
Remember the collectives must be non profits.... honesty
how many do you think are actually following that part of the law?
reddread
(6,896 posts)in fact, the big league stuff goes on with absolute protection.
what is illegal, and what is pursued (and why), are not necessarily the same things.

(22,271 posts)This is NOT good. They closed down the dispensaries (which are now underground) so now people have to either buy from the cartels, know about the underground dispensaries (not common knowledge), buy from growers out of town or risk being fined $1,000 PER PLANT!
I have to defend Fresno over and over again from geographical ignorance on this board all the time but there is NO WAY I can defend this. And Margaret Mims? I literally hate this woman. The problem is, the last election we had a "choice" of voting for a certified RWNJ (Mims) vs. another certified RWNJ (what's his name). There was literally no one to vote FOR. Same thing with the City Council and the County Board of Supervisors. The so-called Democrats are ALL Blue Dogs who. most of the time, side with the PTB (Henry R. Perea and Henry T. Perea come to mind-- father and son, respectively).
One of these days the rich white men will no longer control Fresno and the 150-year-old stranglehold will be over. I just wish minority voters would turn out to vote. There are scads of voter registration drives throughout the year but when election time rolls around, our Mexican-American brethren and sistren don't show up to vote even though they are the numerical majority. I don't understand it and would like to.

(6,896 posts)after how they did Prop 37, and that sudden resignation beforehand?
town deserves an entirely different and much worse reputation.
utterly corrupt.

(22,271 posts)based upon the conduct of elected individuals and/or their police dept. (chief). For the most part, the PEOPLE of Fresno are good, kind, generous people. We're a multi-cultural city and I, for one, celebrate that. Unfortunately, the rich white Republicans have a stranglehold on Fresno. It's not always going to be that way but it's going to require a push-back and I can't wait for that day to come.

(6,896 posts)yeah, all the residents of Fresno deserve much better.
The strings of out of town criminal power are pulling these things off.
Not a lot of in town power players, definitely some county residents and
other denizens get more than their fair share, but there are criminal enterprises
throughout the valley being run from afar.

(10,274 posts)It seems they've imposed some kind of administrative civil penalty to attack sick people who are otherwise legally allowed to grow.
I hope someone takes this to court It seems like an extreme way to circumvent 215.

(6,896 posts)and it is what the Cartels want.
Its just not what the People want.
If only we could elect some Democratic leaders.
oh wait.
