Why all the hate? Not all used car salesmen are bad.

Or is everyone here going to say you have NEVER purchased a used car?

I have. Last time we got a great deal on a used van. They guy was straightforward, not pushy, and the vehicle was in excellent condition at a fair price.

Obviously, you have to be careful that the salesperson is being honest and that the car ISN'T a POS.

Sometimes, a buyer just WANTS to BELIEVE that the salesman is their best friend.

Caveat emptor.

emptied the tank and ran it into the ground.

I think the guy who put the car back on the road deserves to be cut a little slack.

... I think some of the criticism is justified. The observation that he wasn't the one who drove it into the canal is a weak defense.

How do you think Obama should approach the Ukraine/Crimea crisis?

I think it was due to neocon shenanigans but I'm not sure the POTUS can say that.

And I'm not sure that he can just let Russian expansionism stand.

Obviously, very few groups 100% fit the stereotypes associated with them. I think this one was boosted along by a series of movies back in the 70s and 80s that reinforced the stereotype.

Working to commission is a very RW sort of idea - that rather than paying sales staff a decent salary simply to sell product, they should be underpaid and have the rest of their pay tied to sales, to 'incentivize' them. If the RW had their way, we'd not even have minimum wages, and everyone in every sales job, would only be paid if they made sales. 'Salary' would be reserved for people who could be then forced into massive amounts of unpaid overtime.

I missed whatever meta set off the original firestorm, but I still don't see why anyone thinks 'used car salesman' is 'racist', even when applied to the President.

Would be happier with McCain or Romney at the helm. It seems some people are hell-bent on dividing DU with their over-the-top criticism of our President.
