General Discussion
Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsI'll be totally honest here. I have no clue who the so-called "purity patrol" is here.
Is it:
A) Those who demand all posters to be unequivocally and unabashedly loyal to a predetermined set of principles they view as vital towards the liberal/progressive cause, and seek to shun any individuals or elected officials (members of the Democratic party as they may be) who deviate away from said predetermined set of principles.
Or is it:
B) Those who demand all posters to be unequivocally and unabashedly loyal to major elected officials in the Democratic Party and fear that dissent will ultimately benefit only Republicans and conservatives.
Seriously, I don't know who is supposed to be the so-called "purity patrol" here. And frankly, both ends of the spectrum can come off looking hyperbolic and silly at times.

(47,479 posts)Just because someone or some wish to establish such an entity does not make it valid or true.
I know that some have alerted but I think that the best response should be to let it sink. Just ignore such comments, do not respond, do not recommend and it will sink.

And, yes, both ends come off looking bad more often than not.

Then they sit back wait for disagreeing responses.
When I see that I trash the thread and put the poster on ignore.
