http://www.rawstory.com/rs/2014/03/27/christian-group-blames-restroom-concerns-for-tomboys-removal-from-private-school/The conservative Liberty Counsel made vague allusions to sensitive restroom use issues to defend a Christian schools decision to bar an 8-year-old girl over her tomboy looks.
Timberlake Christian School notified Sunnie Kahle and her great-grandparents that she cannot return because her boyish appearance contradicts a biblical lifestyle.
We believe that unless Sunnie and her family clearly understand that God has made her female and her dress and behavior need to follow suit with her God-ordained identity, that TCS is not the best place for her future education, the schools principal wrote in a letter.
Sunnie wears her hair short, collects baseballs and knives, and prefers to wear jeans and T-shirts, said her great-grandmother and legal guardian.

(14,557 posts)and for some reason that church council wants to crush her spirit.
A mature adult, or group of mature adults, don't worry about what the neighbors think about how a kid dresses, you
just want your child to be filled with self-esteem and true to themselves as they grow along the way.

(23,664 posts)God forbid she should look like a boy (I don't think she appears overly boyish to begin with).
I'm sure jeebus would approve of her if she looked like a ho and pranced around in them godawful kiddie pageants. That's apparently how he intended for 8year old girls to appear.

(14,856 posts)but I don't think the Bible addresses the hairstyles, dress, general appearance or hobbies of little girls. It expounds upon how men and women are supposed to dress and look, certainly, but I don't think there are any equivalent instructions for little girls.

(6,719 posts)Editing does not make what you did any more acceptable. This is a cute kid who wants to go to school. The Bible says to love one another. I hope she grows up to make a mint and donates money to public schools.
